The mustard pot has a conical body that stands on a waisted foot, and an ear-shaped handle. There is a recess for a mustard spoon in the upper side of the wall. The domed cover has a round knob. The mustard pot is painted in blue with a bird on a branch between flowers and plants. A band with arrow-shaped ornaments is applied to the foot, the handle is decorated with stripes. The cover is painted with two flower sprigs, the top part of the knob is blue.
Dimensions: height 11,8 cm / 4.65 in., diameter 11 cm / 4.33 in.

A similar blue and white mustard pot is in the collection of the Musée National de Céramique in Sèvres, France (Lahaussois, p. 121, no. 80). A multi-coloured specimen is in Boston, in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts (inv. no. 2012.604).
Explanatory note
This model is presumably derived from silver mustard pots from the first half of the eighteenth century.
