Mark: a 7 and a 3, separated by a dash
Painted in blue, the jug or teapot has a rectangular shape and a narrow shoulder ending in a narrower rectangular opening at the top. The ear-shaped handle ends in a scroll, the spout has a flattened s-shape. On two sides, a relief decor is modelled and painted. One side shows a woman picking fruit from a flowering tree, the other shows a resting shepherd with a gourd under a fruit tree. Scroll ornaments are applied on the other two sides and the handle. A tulip is painted on the underside of the spout. The shoulder is decorated with a block line. A small amount of cobalt oxide has been added to the tin glaze giving it a slightly bluish tone.

Explanatory note
The function of the jug is not entirely clear. It may have been used for wine, spirits, or tea. Should it be a teapot, it is an early model. It is plausible to assume that it is an imitation of a silver jug with a relief decor: the rectangular shape and the relief indicate that.
