The White Star pottery
Mark: a star
The dish has a small flange and is painted in polychrome with a variant of the so-called lightning decor. The center is decorated with an irregular-shaped cartouche, filled with a flowering shrub on a ground. The outside of the cartouche is painted all around with grass and blooming floral and leafy branches between four medallions, which are filled with floral motifs. The decor takes its name from the hook- and zigzag-shaped green stripes in the border.
