Three blue and white plates from a Twelve-Month set after engravings by Frederick Bloemaert, after a design by his father Abraham Bloemaert. The pictures are framed in a continuous border of linked leafy branches, straps and scrolls. The month and date are painted in a cartouche in the foreground. September is represented by reclining farmers during the grain harvest, October by reclining grape pickers at a tavern and December by people pruning trees.
