JVV 0052
Delft, 1740-1780
The dogs are finely modelled and each placed on a lozenge-shaped, conical stand. They wear collars with an attached bell and have their heads turned. The open snouts give them a vigilant, almost aggressive appearance. The blue painting executed on the dogs mainly accentuates the head, spine, legs and tail. The stands are painted with flowers and flower branches separated by trellis diaper.
