The rectangular tea canister is painted on all four sides with floral motifs in blue, green and red, the so-called cashmere palette. The floral motifs are derived from Chinese porcelain of the Kangxi-period (1662-1722) and are made up of flowering plants issuing from open-work rocks. A blue-lined frame along all edges and around the short neck has been applied. The tea canister has a tin mount which was applied at a later stage.
