The octagonal basket has sloping, pierced sides with a profiled rim. It stands on eight small feet. The center is finely painted with a gallant scene of a man and a woman in a landscape. The decor is executed in lavender blue within bluish black outlining. The clouds and trees in the background are painted in blue only which gives depth to the picture. The sides are painted with floral motives and lines that accentuate the openwork pattern.
