The blue and white plate has a wide, flat and slightly raised flange and is painted with a chinoiserie decoration of two seated Chinese figures conversing in a landscape. The Chinese man on the left is holding a flower or fruit in his right hand, while the one on the right has a large bowl of freshly picked fruit on his lap. The well is unpainted. The flange is decorated with flowers and foliage on a ground of scroll ornaments.
