Two polychrome plaques with landscapes

JVV 0421

Delft, 1750-1770

The plaques have a rectangular shape with indented corners and semi-circular sides. The rim is modelled in relief and has a semi-circular, profiled suspension loophole at the top. A blue and white Dutch water landscape is painted in an oval in the centre. The space between oval and rim is filled by a floral design in red and green on a yellow ground. The embossed border consists of a white inner rim, a blue and white central rim with leaves and a blue-veined, green outer rim.

Dimensions: length 26,8 cm / 10.55 in., width 24 cm / 9.44 in.
