JVV 0459
The Netherlands, 1660-1700
The blue and white dish has a wide, spreading flange, and is painted in the centre with a walking, flute-playing putto in a simplified landscape in a double circle. The well is unpainted. The decor on the flange is composed of ovals and striped triangles, connected by small arched segments. Three stilt marks, which are characteristic for majolica, are visible in the centre.
Dimensions: diameter 31 cm / 12.20 in.

Explanatory note
Perhaps the decor on the dish is an allegory of hearing.
