The dish has a spreading, slightly raised flange and is painted in purple and yellow with a fruit decor of grapes and apples or oranges, set in a double circle. The well is unpainted. The border decor is made up of filled arc segments, alternating with striped triangles. Three stilt marks, which are characteristic for majolica, are visible in the centre.

Explanatory note
Fruit decors in all their variations were a popular decorative motif in the seventeenth century and were painted mainly on tiles, majolica dishes and on faience plates from Delft and other places.
