Explanatory note
The colour scheme of blue, yellow and green is frequently found on lobed dishes from the sixteen-nineties, especially with images of King William III and his wife Queen Mary Stuart. In addition to peacocks and other birds, flowers, flower vases, horsemen, the human figure, landscapes and heraldic weapons are also depicted on lobed dishes with this colour scheme.
