Lion with a ball

JVV 0619

Delft, 1750-1800

The lion stands on a green base, with its left paw resting on a yellow ball. Its watchful gaze is turned to the right, its posture tense, ready for action. The mane and raised tail are rendered in dark purple. The eyebrows, nose and mouth are depicted in orange-brown, while the eyes combine orange-brown with accents of deep purple.

Dimensions: length: 9,5 cm / 3.74 in., width 3,4 cm / 1.33 in., height 5,7 cm / 2.24 in.

Condition: slight chipping of the glaze on places

Explanatory note
