Explanatory note
In Delftware, unpainted, white figures, separate or on an animal, are not very common. In some cases, they are based on, or imitations of, porcelain figurines. Often, painted versions of white figures also exist. The goat appears within Dutch Delftware as a separate sculpture and combined with a child on its back. They were also used on lids of small terrines.
